Details on the measured signal :
This is a 40Gb/s mode locked fiber laser measurement. The blue trace represents the 4ps pulse generated by the mode-locked fiber laser, the red trace represents the adiabatic chirp (in GHz) of the mode-locked fiber laser and the yellow trace represents the indetermined value of chirp (due to the low intensity power).
In this example, we measured a 40GHz mode-locked fiber laser coupled to a 40Gb/s MZI modulator driven by a 40Gb/s pulse pattern generator. The signal analyzed was a 16bits pattern.

AP2440A benefits :
Based on our patented complex spectrum analysis principle, the AP2440A series are only limited in temporal resolution by their wavelength range. So, temporal resolution for pulse and chirp measurement is :

  • AP2440A maximum temporal resolution : 150fs

  • AP2441A maximum temporal resolution : 95fs

  • AP2443A maximum temporal resolution : 75fs

This makes the AP2440A series, the ideal instrument for short pulse and chirp measurement (transient and/or adiabatic chirp).
